Falmouth: Travellers leave Dracaena Football Pitch following council order

This morning (20th), travellers left an unauthorised encampment at Dracaena Pitches in Falmouth.

The group set up camp on the fields on Tuesday evening (17th), with Falmouth Town Council and the police immediately requesting they vacate the site.

The council served a notice this week, and had bailiffs in discussion with the group to move them on.

It is not clear whether they are the same group, but an unauthorised encampment was also ordered to move on from The Hornworks near Pendennis Castle in early July. Although they left quicker this time around.

Various spots of litter were left strewn across the field, it is not yet clear what damage the camp has done to the pitch for the forthcoming season.
