Falmouth is set to feature on a brand new series of Devon & Cornwall.

The show, narrated by John Nettles, will focus on people who were ahead of the trend – whether born or drawn to this beautiful corner of Britain.

From farmers and fishermen to artisans and adventurers, this series will take you from heather-clad moors to golden sandy beaches to celebrate more of the people who live and work in these proud counties.

Falmouth will feature in episode three and four of the series, the synopsis for episode three reads:

"Down on the south Cornish coast near Falmouth, a grey stormy day would put most people off heading out to sea. But the miserable weather and choppy sea doesn't normally affect Georgina Miller and friend Alice Hickson, as their adventures take place well below the waves.

"The pair are champion free divers – which involves diving without breathing apparatus for extended periods of time – and today Georgina is guiding Cornwall newbie Alice through a spectacular underwater cave for the very first time."

Episode 4 reads:

"On Cornwall's Fal Estuary there's an unseen menace lurking beneath the waves – ghost nets! A ghost net is a fishing net that's been lost or abandoned in the ocean. And while few humans are affected by this discarded gear, it poses a serious threat to marine life.

"Fortunately divers like Fred Nunn are determined to tackle the problem – today he and colleagues from Ghost Fishing UK are helping to remove some lost lobster pots that are littering the seabed near Mylor."

The series will be split into four parts, other places to watch out for in the series are the Lizard Peninsula and Fowey.
