A student veterinary nurse from Falmouth has been looking after a Moorhen chick.

Little Dynamo, named after he managed to escape from his carrier, was found drowning in Helston.

Chloe Mai-Burrows, a student nurse living in Falmouth, took him home from the vets to rehabilitate him.

A penguin teddy has been bought to keep him company, which has become his closest friend.

Chloe initially monitored his breathing and gave him antibiotics, which has drastically improved his health.

Chloe told Nub News: "Little Dynamo is such a character.

"When I picked him up from the vets he was in the carrier, next minute did a magic trick and was running around the carpark, hence the name.

"I've never had a Moorhen chick before and he's definitely making it an experience to remember."

The chick is currently on his own, apart from his penguin friend.

Chloe is on the lookout for another orphaned duckling or Moorhen to become a friend to Dynamo.

In a recent fundraiser, Chloe raised money to buy herself an incubator - she says it would have been impossible to keep Dynamo warm without it.

During lockdown, Chloe has rescued and rehabilitated countless wildlife.

She has had her work cut out for her due to many of the local wildlife centres closing down due to the pandemic.

Chloe receives no financial support for the work she does - which means she pays for the equipment and food herself.
