A Falmouth bar has had a successful first night after it surprised the community with its reopening yesterday evening.

The Games Room, situated on Market Street, wanted to keep their reopening quiet to avoid any chance of crowds forming.

The town responded well to the reopening and Bar Manager Kathy has confirmed that there were no issues.

Kathy told Nub News: "Everyone was fantastic, not one person had an issue with how it was working."

The Games Room has taken social distancing extremely seriously and has left no room for any mistakes to be made.

Everyone who attended the bar texted the number for a reliable track and trace system - the number will stay in use throughout their opening.

The pub usually has a maximum capacity of 360 people, this has been reduced to 96.

After a tumultuous journey through lockdown and some immense planning, the bar can now focus on doing what they do best.

Games Room opening times:

Monday to Friday: 4 till 11

Weekend: 12 till 11
