Falmouth School teacher nominated for Cambridge Educator Awards
Falmouth School has shared the news that one of its teachers has been nominated for an educator award by a former student.
The school said they were proud to announce that Katherine Tredget, a dedicated and passionate teacher, has been nominated for the prestigious Cambridge Educator Awards.
The nomination comes from former Falmouth student Mya Gurrin, who recognized Ms. Tredget's exceptional commitment to education and her significant pastoral support.
The Cambridge Educator Awards aim to celebrate and honour educators who have gone above and beyond in their profession, fostering a love for learning and nurturing their students' potential.
Mya, now studying at Cambridge University nominated Ms. Tredget in the category of, Practical and Emotional Support Champion Award for teachers who provided practical and emotional support to a student during a challenging period.
Ms. Tredget commented, "Hearing that Mya had got into the University of Cambridge was such a proud moment for both her and everyone who has had the privilege to be involved in her education.
"She has already achieved so much in so many aspects of her life and always does her utmost to inspire others. She is a force to be reckoned with when there is a situation which is unjust or where she can change things for the better. I am very pleased to inspire such a talented young person and I cannot wait to see what Mya's future holds."
Headteacher Mrs. Lenka Chanter expressed her pride in Ms. Tredget's nomination, stating, "Kat is an exceptional educator who consistently goes above and beyond for all her students, she really does exemplify being part of the Falmouth Family and being extraordinary. We are delighted that her professionalism and pastoral responsibilities are being recognised on a prestigious platform such as the Cambridge Educator Awards."
