Falmouth residents take part in virtual pub quiz to combat self-isolation loneliness
Falmouth residents have taken part in a virtual pub quiz as a way to help with loneliness and boredom during self-isolation.
The virtual quiz, hosted by Exeter student Will Forbes, offers people the chance to take part in a classic pub style quiz via a live stream on Facebook.
The quizzes are an initiative of The Rock Pool Project, an organisation that specialises in connecting people with nature in innovative and educational ways.
Willam asked if people would be interested in the quiz on Falmouth's coronavirus solidarity Facebook group and received over 200 positive responses.
William Forbes, in charge of social media at The Rock Pool Project, told Nub News:
"I got a fair amount of interest in the COVID-19 Penryn and Falmouth Solidarity Group on Facebook when I asked if people would be interested.
"So far we have about eight teams. People can continue to sign up if they wish to.
"The overall winner from all the weeks will win a free t-shirt, the runner up will win a voucher for the rock pool project. The quiz is free to enter but people can donate if they wish to."
The adult quizzes will be taking place every Monday at 3pm, you can find this on The Rock Pool Project's Facebook page.
There is also a quiz for children and parents, which will be taking place every Thursday at 3pm.
The Rock Pool Project has endeavoured to help keep providing education while people are in self-isolation, the creation of 'weekly activity booklets' is to help parents who are teaching at home.
