A Falmouth resident has created a Facebook page that encourages people to upload videos of themselves dancing while doing the dishes.

'Disco Dishes' is a page created by Peter Marland, a Falmouth resident who wanted to push some positivity into his community.

Speaking to Falmouth Nub News, Peter said:

"It all started a few years ago when doing the dishes, I had some music playing in the background when an absolute banger of a track came on and I just started dancing, before I knew it the dishes were done.

"The inspiration for my group came from another Facebook page called 'Put Your Bins Out In Your Ballgown' where people get dressed in their best clothes just to put out the bin.

"After seeing so many people enjoying a task as boring as putting out the bins, I just thought that a disco whilst doing the dishes may lift people's spirits as well."

Peter feels that lighthearted positivity is needed right now, especially as everyone is keeping indoors.

He continued:

"I think stuff like this is important right now because of the uncertain times we are all in, not only should it hopefully help people to laugh, smile and boost morale - but also take their mind off the current situation, even if it's just for a couple of minutes.

"There is also a hidden side to dancing, it is a fun form of exercise and before you know it you may have done a ten-minute workout."
