A new venture for a local inn with the addition of a cafe serving coffee, tea, and breakfast ciabattas seven days a week.
As reported recently by Nub News, the pub based on Grove Place was taken over by Deborah and Chris Hartley in November 2021, with a name change, a new colour scheme, and now the cafe which opened on Monday (18th).
The cafe area, located just below the main restaurant/bar area, is open 9am-4pm daily serving hot and cold drinks, pasties, cakes, and ice creams.
All the food is for takeaway - you can enjoy it in the cafe area or outside on the patio.
General Manager Jon Phillips told Nub News: "There is a nice atmosphere with the open kitchen and the chefs get involved with the customers, talking to them about what they're making. There is potential for fresh bread, more cakes, and sandwiches at lunchtime. It is a great use of the space.
"It is exciting to have it ready for when Falmouth gets busy in summertime. We've had people coming in for their tea and coffee before work. Also, people who don't particularly want to sit down for a full breakfast can pop down for a bacon bap. It's nice to have that flexibility."
Jon added: "The reception has been really good. We put a social media post out this week about it, and there have been lots of nice comments with people tagging their friends to organise meetups for breakfast. It has been a really positive start."
