Anna Gibson, a personal trainer based in Falmouth has been running online training sessions from her Facebook page to keep people active during lockdown.

Anna, who also works at Evolve Sports and Fitness at Cornwall College, shares a variety of videos including exercises and circuit routines people can try out from home.

Anna told Nub News:

"This is something that I have been doing for a while but decided to up my game a little bit, with the whole world moving online it seemed like a natural progression.

"People seem to be enjoying the sessions and I am getting good feedback, I have been running online classes via Zoom and people are really enjoying those because they get the whole social aspect of it as well as doing the exercise.

"The gyms are now closed, that is mainly where my work is and we have been trying to find ways to help support people and my personal training clients."

Anna also shared some tips for residents in lockdown on how to keep active and healthy, she continued:

"It is always really important to be keeping active, to be keeping fit and healthy, at the moment trying to find ways to keep active while being in the house a lot more is paramount.

"It is so easy to sit and watch Netflix which some days it is fine to do but for your mental and physical health keeping busy and keep moving helps keep your sanity a bit.

Part of Annas personal training qualification covers nutrition, she added:

"A part of it is the training side but often what you eat is what helps people reach their goals.

"First of all I always say it is fine to have a takeaway every now and then because we all enjoy them but I think the key is planning what you are going to have during the week, sitting down on a Sunday and planning meals for the rest of the week.

"Prepare meals so they are already there, so you can just take it out the freezer and it takes that temptation away a little bit."
