Falmouth Oyster Festival: The Countrymen and Johnny Cowling

The opening day of the Oyster Festival came to a close with music from Cornish Folk band The Countrymen and entertainment from Johnny Cowling.

Friday kicks off with a cooking demonstration from Nick Hemming, The Heron Inn, Malpas.

At 12.15pm there is a chance to talk wine with expert Stuart Douglas.

Live music comes courtesy of Blues, Folk, Country, Rock and Reggae musician Viv Robertson, and Cornish soulful singer, songwriter Joe Francis.

In between the music, there is a cooking demonstration from Nick Hodges, The Greenbank Hotel.

At 3.15pm there is the Grand Oyster Parade, with local schools going from The Moor to the National Maritime Museum.

The evening entertainment is from UK funk band Freshly Squeezed, and the acclaimed Hot Chef Challenge with Nick Hodges.

Daytime entry is free, tickets for the evening are £10.
