Falmouth man dies after fatal collision in Bodmin

A Falmouth man in his 80s has died following a collision on the A30 at Lanivet in Bodmin yesterday, Wednesday 1 January.

The collision involved two vehicles, a grey Citroen and an HGV, on the Westbound carriageway at around 6pm.

The driver of the Citroen, who was from Falmouth, was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed. The occupants of the HGV was uninjured.

Several other vehicles travelling on the Eastbound carriageway were damaged due to debris from the collision.

The A30 was closed in both directions whilst a forensic examination of the complex and extended collision scene was conducted.

Officers from the Roads Policing Team attended are appealing for witnesses who may have seen the collision or have dash camera footage to contact police, quoting the log number 934 01/01/20.
