The manager at Gylly Beach Cafe has reacted to the recent horrendous fires on the beach - saying they have never seen anything like it.

Mark Agnew has worked at the cafe for almost 20 years, "just about when you think you've seen it all something surprises you," he said.

As reported by Nub News, one of the cafe's 660-litre wheelie bins got taken onto the beach along with two council-owned bins and set fire to.

On another night, two more council bins were dragged out to the shoreline and again set alight.

Mark told Nub News: "Gyllyngvase Beach has always been plagued by large fires and BBQs throughout the year. I've seen people ripping out trees, and stealing people's benches. Never have I seen people drag huge bins onto the beach to burn the plastic. It is unimaginable why someone would want to do that. It must've absolutely stank."

There was a heavy cost for the cafe with a new bin from Biffa costing £300, the council bins had to be replaced, as well as the damage to the beach.

"We would like to identify these people and see them apprehended," Mark added.
