The Falmouth RNLI team was launched on Saturday evening (14th) following reports of a group of people in the water.

Launching at 5:25pm, the inshore lifeboat with made their way across the river to St Mawes.

Six occupants had fallen into the water following the capsizing of a dory boat.

A spokesperson for Falmouth RNLI said:

"It was soon confirmed that the six occupants of a capsized Dory had thankfully managed to make their way to shore and the vessel had washed up against the sea wall.

"Portscatho Coastguard Team checked that the occupants did not need any medical attention and were able to make their own way home, as well as passing on some safety advice.

"Given the conditions, it was considered too risky to attempt to recover the Dory and so the inshore Lifeboat crew and Coastguard team were stood down."
