A family from Falmouth is raising money this Halloween for The Last Chance Hotel a charity that works hard to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome abused and neglected dogs and other animals.

Jo Phelps and her family have been putting up decorations for around 13 years to go with their annual party but this year they have gone one step further.

The family has put up decorations for the whole of October, Jo said the aim was to raise money and make people happy, she commented: "Normally we decorate the garden just before our big party but this year after the pandemic we decided to bring smiles to the neighborhood and also attach it to a fundraiser to see if people would help us raise some money."

Jo explained her decision when choosing the charity to help, she said: "I'm a dog groomer and loved the idea of supporting the last chance hotel in Delabole because I groom dogs that have come from the charity, I think a lot of the time people support larger ones so we decided to go local."

"We've raised almost £380 pounds now and have some door donations to add to that, Local people have been so supportive we've had nothing but positive comments about what we're doing," Jo added.

With all the donations its clear the neighbourhood loves the decorations but even those living right next to the family and the spooky display are keen to help, Jo Explained: "Our next-door neighbour Greg has been so generous this month and allowed us to park a car on his drive for the entire month so that we could put the full display out."

The family is now preparing for their party decorating the whole house and back garden in preparation but you are welcome to head to the top of Boslowick Road to have a look at the great display and donate.
