A new dental practice due to open in Falmouth has bid for new signage on its building at Western Terrace.
Advertisement consent has been submitted by Mr A Paterson for the provision of three signs at The Observatory Dental Practice, a new practice offering quality family dentistry for adults and children, alongside more advanced treatments such as implants, Invisalign, orthodontics, and smile makeovers.
The Practice is due to open in the Summer of 2022 after it obtained planning permission in 2021 for the change of use of the former Observatory Guest House into a dentist.
The proposal seeks to install three downward illuminated signs at the premises.
The applicant stated:
"The application property is a long-established commercial site, located on Western Avenue where there are a number of other premises (doctors' surgery, Hotel, B&Bs, etc) that have signs presenting towards the public throughfare within their forecourts and/ or on their building facades.
"The advertisements themselves are commensurate in their scale to the application building and their location. The sizes again being reflective of what is found elsewhere in the area.
"Due to the characteristics of Western Terrace as a relatively busy thoroughfare, with street lighting and other signage evident, the proposed signs, due to their modest scale, and siting back within and upon the application, premises will not appear odd or out of character.
"As a result, the proposals will be acceptable in terms of their effects upon the amenities of the area."
The status of the application is "awaiting decision".
