FALMOUTH CREATES, the creative collaboration formed last year by Richard Wilcox, Executive Director of the multi-award-winning Falmouth Business Improvement District (BID), today announced its brilliant line-up of events for 2023.

The 'brainchild' of several different organisations, FALMOUTH CREATES will facilitate, organise, and support an enviable calendar of festivals and happenings, dedicated to supporting Falmouth's creative sector.

This year's schedule is mouth-watering: 2023 LINE-UP:

WanderFAL 7 – 8 April Taking place across five town venues with 40 bands on show, the event aims to engage and immerse the community in grassroots music. Locals and visitors can 'wander' between musical genres and cool spaces, experiencing diverse national and international performers over one lovely weekend. Wanderfal Festival – The Cornish Bank

Fal Food Fest 26-28 May Taking place at the Church Street waterfront site, Fal Food Fest will celebrate the fantastic food and drink scene of the town and region. Expect to discover foody pop-ups, chilled music, and creative happenings. Falmouth Food Festival | Falmouth | Facebook

The Falmouth Cringe 6 – 9 July A festival of comedy for all ages which will showcase up-and-coming local talent and renowned international comedians. Cringe is a new way for Cornish audiences to experience culturally rich, live comedy most often seen in London, Bristol, or Edinburgh, from magic to performance comedy, stand-up to improvisation. FORM Art Festival 29 September – 1 October Celebrating Cornwall and Falmouth's visual arts offer through an art fair, talks, and workshops, visitors and residents can meet and purchase from diverse, skilled Cornish artists and craftspeople. Organised for the local community, FORM will seek to provide a platform for people at all stages in their creative journey. Form Falmouth

FIAF 2023 will be an exciting taster of what to expect in future years and delivered in partnership with local businesses and the community. Falmouth Book Festival 16 – 22 October Falmouth Book Festival brings a diverse range of celebrated author talks, workshops, panel discussions, interactive children's events, readings, and agenda-setting conversations throughout the town. The festival will showcase talent from the local writing community and bring in high-quality, internationally renowned literary names, all further building Falmouth's national profile and standing. The Legend of King Arthur 17 June – 30 September FALMOUTH CREATES is also working alongside Falmouth Art Gallery who this year are facilitating their largest-ever exhibition. Richard Wilcox, Executive Director of Falmouth BID, said: "Falmouth's enviable festival calendar gets bigger and better every year, delivering major economic and social benefits for the business community, our residents, and visitors. The much-anticipated return of Falmouth Tall Ships in August which we as a Town Team will seek to deliver in addition to many other projects and despite the current challenging climate will strongly evidence that.

"We're a dynamic destination, always looking to punch well above our weight, a result of developing highly productive partnerships. Falmouth BID will proactively support these exciting FALMOUTH CREATES' ideas through to fruition this year. I very much hope that the Falmouth community enjoys this year's line-up."

The events and festivals that FALMOUTH CREATES supports, will aim to attract thousands of additional visitors to the town throughout the year, as well as acting as an enabler for neighbourhoods and individuals who don't naturally have access to cultural events or opportunities.

Gabby Vautier from Impossible Producing and Co-Director of FIAFest said: "FALMOUTH CREATES joins the dots between some amazing creative and entrepreneurial brains across Falmouth and we at imPOSSIBLE Producing are excited to be part of this group, making things possible, for artists, for audiences, for Falmouth.

"The town is famous for its fabulous festivals and so, as part of the programme, we are thrilled to bring FIAFest to the mix. Expect to laugh, cry, be surprised, see things you have never seen before, feel understood, feel different, and ultimately want it all to happen again next year."
