Over the past week, there has been a noticeable increase in coronavirus cases in Falmouth and the neighbouring towns/villages.

With a government interactive covid map, residents can see official data to show the extent of Covid-19 in every area of the country within the past seven days. It is updated with new figures every day.

Coronavirus in Falmouth

Falmouth North: 21 cases

Falmouth West and South: 6 cases

Ponsanooth, Mabe and Constantine: 36 cases

Falmouth East: 21 cases

Penryn: 10 cases

Data for Mylor Bridge and Frogpool is suppressed, meaning that they only contain 0-2 people testing positive each week.

The latest business to announce a temporary closure is Mangos, on Church Street, after a member of the bar staff tested positive for coronavirus.

A Mangos spokesperson said this morning:

"As one of our bar staff has tested positive for Covid-19 this morning, Mangos will be closed this weekend while we thoroughly deep clean the venue.

"There is currently no need for any customers to self isolate at this stage, we recommend anyone who was in the pub over the weekend take a PCR test and take the usual precautions of social distancing and hand washing.

"We're sorry to be another venue in Falmouth to close due to covid but the safety of our customers and team must be the most important thing at this moment in time. We looking forward to seeing you all soon. Please take care, everybody."
