During the pandemic, while residents have been stuck indoors, there has been much talk on social media of people wanting to throw a street party after self-quarantine measures are loosened.

Town Clerk, Mark Williams, told Nub News:

"Whilst I think there will be a need for our community to celebrate when this awful disease recedes, we haven't really had a chance to give much thought to what that may be.

"In Falmouth, we are very good at, and have numerous opportunities, for the community to celebrate with the numerous events and festivals we have. When the situation is clearer it maybe we can utilise our existing events programme.

"But as I say not a priority at the moment."

A Facebook post on a popular community group called for businesses in Falmouth to join together and throw a street party when the lockdown was all over.

One comment stated:

"Would be a great way to welcome everyone back!"

Another comment said:

"Brilliant idea!"
