Update: The A39 has reopened at Dracaena Avenue, Falmouth, after work to remove a dangerous tree.

Cormac has closed the road at Dracaena Avenue this afternoon for the removal of a dangerous tree.

The weather caused serious travel disruption last night as trees were reported to have fallen across the area onto roads and train lines.

Cormac began the work on the A39 at 3:30pm with a full diversion as the removal takes place.

There were a series of tree-related incidents overnight, including at Bickland, Argal, and Kernick.

The road is set to be closed for a "short period".
