Fallen trees have been reported across Falmouth and Penryn as strong winds and rain cause havoc on the roads.

The Met Office issued a yellow weather warning for rain, that is expected to continue until the early hours of Thursday morning.

So far it has been reported that trees are down in Longfield (Falmouth), Kernick (Penryn), Treluswell (Penryn), Grenville Crescent (Falmouth), Argal (Penryn), and Antron Hill (Mabe).

Devon and Cornwall Police have issued the following traffic alerts:

  • Grenville Road Southbound blocked due to fallen tree from Old Hill to A39 Dracaena Avenue. Traffic is coping well.
  • Bickland Water Road partially blocked due to fallen tree and visibility reduced at Bosmeor Road. Traffic is coping well.
  • Bissom Road blocked due to fallen tree at Tregew Road. Traffic is coping well.
