Falmouth bar, The Moth and Moon, surprised everyone when they announced their immediate closure on Facebook last night (6th December 2019).

In a post written yesterday evening, they stated:

"'Due to unforeseen circumstances, The Moth and Moon will be closing. Tomorrow is our last evening so make sure you come on down from 6pm and enjoy some cocktails!"

A spokesperson for the bar told Falmouth Nub News:

"We had decided to take the business in a different direction in 2020 and are taking some time to develop the new offering into something that will be the right fit for Falmouth and our customers which will launch early in the new year.

"We wanted to stay open until the 31st however due to staffing issues we, unfortunately, have to close earlier.

"We are very excited to be working on a new offering but at this time that is all we can say."

The cocktail bar, self-described as 'a cocktail lover's cornucopia', was a Falmouth favourite and received rave reviews on and offline.

The bar will be opening for its final time tonight (7th December 2019).
