A family of six had be rescued last night (25th) after being cut off by the tide near Falmouth.

Falmouth Coastguard and lifeboat crews were put into action after reports the group were in potential difficulty at Shag Rock, Mawnan Smith.

A spokesperson for the Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"As team members were arriving at the location, which is between Mawnan Church and Rosemullion Head in the entrance to the Helford, the ILB arrived and was able to safely take the family off the beach.

"Team members then relocated to Durgan village where the casualties were being taken ashore.

"Other than the younger members of the group being a little cold, there were no injuries and all were well."
