The festive season felt like it had really arrived in Falmouth yesterday evening (25th) as the community celebrated the switch on of the town's Christmas lights.

Here are some more brilliant photos from across the evening shared by Neal Johnston.

The festivities began with different schools, groups, and Santa joining up at Events Square and making their way to The Moor.

Nominated community champions were chosen in a public vote to switch on the lights - this time Andrea Fifield and Pete Marland were picked. They were also given a voucher to The Greenbank Hotel for a well deserved treat.

The special pair were chosen after giving up their time during lockdown to make scrubs for the NHS, while they were at home unable to work.

Pete and Andrea said they "honoured" to be chosen by the public to turn on the lights.

Falmouth BID Manager Richard Wilcox commented:

"Thank you to all for coming out, it is fantastic to all be together once again and celebrate Christmas in Falmouth."
