The owner of Bygone Days Trading Company Antiques & Collectables is calling for a higher police presence on Webber Street after a theft at her shop on Monday.
Over £140 worth of goods were stolen from the business in broad daylight on Monday afternoon.
The goods included an embroidered silk tablecloth, a handmade purple waistcoat and a large wicker basket.
Falmouth Nub News spoke to Lynda, owner of Bygone Days Trading, she said:
"I literally never see police down this street.
"It makes me wonder what the point is of reporting this as a crime. It feels like they wouldn't even care.
"I know that some people will not even use the public toilets on this road because of what goes on in there."
The theft has put a huge set back on the small business.
Angie, a volunteer at Bygone Trading, said:
"It makes us feel like packing it all in.
"We are just trying to make a living but it feels like there are people out there who are determined to not let that happen.
"We want to make local, independent shopping exciting - which is why we sell the range of products that we do.
"It feels like there is a huge lack of respect for the business as a whole. It really is saddening."
Bygone Trading has recently started an indoor market, and Lynda will soon be opening a 1940's themed tea room business in the upper part of the premises.
The Four-Teas Tearoom & Event Space will be having its opening day on 7th January.
The police have been contacted for a comment.
