A Falmouth business will close its doors at the end of the month.

Botanical Atelier, based on Arwenack Street, made the announcement this week.

However, they were keen to highlight this is not goodbye, but 'hello' to new projects, putting more energy into their studio and workshops.

The botanical art shop has been a mainstay in town since 2018, building up a community of artists through numerous events and workshops.

Owner, Sarah Jane Humphrey, posted on social media: "Sadly the time has come to make a truly difficult decision to close our Falmouth shop doors at the end of this month.

"Many aspects of Botanical Atelier have surprised and delighted me with unexpected results. I have met some incredible people, launched countless events and products and have enjoyed greatly the opportunities that have come about from the fortuitous luck I have had from people wandering into my shop on a given day - that of which I never would have realised could have ever been a possibility of owning a retail space in Cornwall.

"I have shared endless stories across some inspiring networks and a portfolio now bursting at its seams from commissions that have come about from days, weeks, months and years spent behind a counter that looks out over the sea. I have learnt a lot. However, it now feels like a natural progression to put more energy back into the studio and workshops where it all began.

"It is important for me to add that this is definitely not a 'goodbye', but more of a 'hello' to new projects. Which I truly hope you will love just as much if not even more than before. Thank you all for your support and amazing custom. I couldn't have come this far without you, and very much hope you enjoy the next part of the Botanical Atelier journey."
