A popular Falmouth bar has decided to not open on their initial reopening date after being advised against the use of their gaming facilities.
The Games Room, situated on Market Street, was originally due to reopen to the public on the 15th July.
Last week, in correspondence with The Games Room, pool and snooker were deemed as an indoor sport by the Council and Police, which has left the bar unable to offer the use of their 14 premium tables.
In a statement, Games Room said:
"We know you were all excited to hear we would be reopening our doors on July 15th, but we have been advised (at very short notice) we will not be able to open with our full great offer, of pool, snooker, table tennis, darts – in fact, anything that makes Games Room your favourite bar!
"So, we have decided to delay opening until we can get this right, safely, and so you can enjoy all we have to offer.
"We have a date in mind, but we do not want to disappoint, so keep an eye out on here, we will update you all as soon as we possibly can…
"It goes without saying we are so disappointed to have to let you all down, but we have to follow guidelines, such as they are…"
The Games Room had previously detailed to Nub News their social distancing measures, which included:
- Hand sanitiser stations
- Pool and snooker tables, balls and cues will be sanitised after each use as well as all other table games.
- Table service and contactless payments with each table sanitised after use.
- Managing their capacity and introducing a separate entrance and exit.
- Dedicated mobile phone number to be used for track and trace
