Falmouth and Penryn residents were in awe last night as a train of satellites were seen trailing across the night sky.

Elon Musk's Starlink satellites were spotted all over Western Europe, with many saying they looked like "Santa's sleigh".

Rachel Gerred-Hart, who recorded a sighting from her home in Penryn, told Nub News:

"Dave my partner sat outside in the dark to see if we could catch any shooting stars when we saw a train of 50 odd satellites.

"Very strange to watch and quite eery.

"Absolutely fascinated."

One resident wrote on social media:

"Fascinating how quick they went over."

Another resident said:

"They don't look like satellites."

Starlink is the informal name for Elon Musk's space project, Space Project X.

The aim of the project is to launch lots of low-orbit satellites to create a hyper-speed internet connection.

You should be able to spot the Starlink tonight at around 9.58pm.
