Dog bans reintroduced on Cornwall beaches

A ban on dogs on Cornwall beaches has been reintroduced this week, May 15th, including Gyllyngvase Beach.

The ban applies to a selection of beaches with more set to come in July - all restriction times are uniform across all beaches as agreed by Cornwall Council.

The beaches with bans from May 15th are as follows:

Crackington Haven, Bude, 15 May - 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Crooklets Beach, Bude, 15 May - 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth, 15 May - 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Porth Beach, Porth, 15 May to 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Porthmeor Beach, St Ives, 15 May - 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Porthminister Beach, St Ives, 15 May - 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Porthtowan Beach, Porthtowan, 15 May – 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Sennen Beach, Sennen, 15 May – 30 September, 10am – 6pm.

Trevone Beach, Padstow, 15 May – 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Widemouth Beach, Bude, 15 May – 30 September, 10am - 6pm.

Back in March, it was also announced extra measures will be taken to tackle the ongoing problem of dog fouling in Falmouth.

Cornwall Council and Falmouth Town Council will be putting in place extra enforcement patrols and signage to warn people of the fines that can be imposed for dog fouling.
