Covid marshals to patrol Falmouth & Penryn to maintain social distancing

Covid marshals are set to be introduced in Falmouth, it was revealed this week.
Speaking on Tony Pagan on Source FM, Jayne Kirkham, Cornwall Councillor for Falmouth Smithick confirmed the news.
The Government recently awarded local councils £30 million to help enforce measures.
Two Covid marshals will be going around the area to advise and support members of the public and businesses.
Jayne Kirkham said:
"The Town Council and BID are brilliant, they got the town open safely and relatively quickly.
"The university has been pretty good as well and they have their own COVID testing on campus.
"They have got COVID marshals, this is in conjunction with Falmouth Town Council, people will be going out advising people, talking to people."
The hope for the marshals scheme is to increase understanding of COVID-19 public health measures, such as social distancing, wearing face coverings in appropriate settings and hand washing.
This will in turn increase public confidence in visiting high streets and using urban centres.
