Anyone working in Cornwall's creative industries - from fashion designers and filmmakers to artists and architects - are being asked by Cornwall Council to complete a short online survey.

Each year Cornwall Council carries out its Creative Census (Niveryans Awenek) to find out how many people are working in creative industries, which include advertising, architecture, arts and culture, crafts, design, fashion, software, games, music, publishing, TV, and film.

The data collected helps highlight the challenges faced by those working in the sector and where support is required. The Creative Census also helps the Council evidence the impact of Cornwall's Creative Manifesto and will inform future policies.

Carol Mould, portfolio holder for Neighbourhoods at Cornwall Council, said: "We want Cornwall to be the leading rural creative economy and we believe that everyone working in the creative industries in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly plays a part in achieving this.

"To continue strengthening and growing this sector we need to make sure that we understand it and look at how we can best support people in these jobs."

Cornwall Council will use the data from the survey to compare how Cornwall's creative sector is performing compared to other areas. It will also provide evidence to help support applications for funding and investment.

Anyone working in creative industries in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly can complete the survey including freelancers, businesses, not-for-profit organisations, as well as individuals who have other jobs alongside their creative activity. If you completed the Census last year the Council would be very interested to hear from you again.

The survey takes about 10 minutes and can be found on the Let's Talk Cornwall website.
