Seaside Falmouth restaurant, Hooked on the Rocks, has told Nub News it plans to stay open until it is forced to close.

This comes following a number of closing establishments in Falmouth such as The Star and Garter and Bango Kitchen.

George Morgan, head chef at Hooked on the Rocks, told Nub News:

"First and foremost our deepest sympathies go out to all of our fellow hospitality professionals. This is an immensely difficult time for our industry which could be fatal to many businesses.

"Our plan at Hooked on the rocks is to remain open until we are forced to close.

"We are working in line with WHO, NHS and government guidance to provide the highest possible levels of hygiene and all staff members have been briefed on the importance of self-isolation should they experience symptoms.

"We aim to reduce and minimise the risk of any transmission by adhering to these standards.

"We will continue to follow the advice given by the British government and leading experts as the situation progresses. The safety and wellbeing of all our guests and staff members continue to be the highest priority.

"We will be running a reduced menu that can be eaten at the restaurant, on the terrace or taken away. Safe distance dining is the phrase we are using and will continue to practise.

"We aim to be the best us we've ever been during this time of uncertainty and will be fighting harder than ever. Please keep in touch on social media to see our opening times and take away, dine at-home menu."
