A climate demonstration is set to go ahead in Falmouth this afternoon (6th) with a call to end sewage pollution.

Beaches across Cornwall have had warnings placed on them recently by Surfers Against Sewage. The waters are deemed unsafe for swimming, due to reports of untreated human waste being released into the sea as a result of heavy rain.

Glasgow is currently hosting the global climate talks, COP26 (Climate Change Conference). The decisions made at COP26 will shape how governments respond to the climate crisis.

There will be a peaceful gathering and demonstration on the beach calling for action on the climate crisis and pollution of waterways.

Protesters will be gathering at 1pm with speeches from local representatives at 1:30pm.

The organisers have urged people to bring wetsuits, surfboards, kayaks, snorkels, swimming hats, and flippers alongside banners & placards, to "get as much attention as possible."
