Castle Beach Cafe has now closed for the winter as the keys are handed over to a new owner.

In October, the owner of Castle Beach Café Fiona Crump announced she would be moving on to new adventures in her last season at the popular seafront cafe.

Fiona Crump took over the cafe from Janet and Johnathan Fine in 2019, and has been a popular friendly figure ever since.

Fiona said she will be handing over the café to someone younger in Emily Davidson, who has worked alongside Fiona for three seasons.

Fiona praised the "wonderful community" of Falmouth in some final words as they closed down for winter.

She said:

"I feel immensely privileged to have met (and worked with) so many very lovely people, what a wonderful community this is.

"My house is full of cards and flowers, I have more chocolate than one person can eat, and I am feeling so much love.

"Thank you to each and every one of you. You have made me laugh and on occasions, you have made me cry. I have watched your bumps turn into babies and watched your babies learn to walk. We have supported rock poolers and writers, photographers, and families."

Fiona added:

"Next year I hope to see some of you from the other side of the counter with a coffee in my hand and my toes in the sand. Please look after Emily, I know she will look after you. Love to you all."
