The brother of a young motorbike rider who died in crash on Swanpool Road over the weekend has criticised the condition of the road.

Mike Charman, was the brother of Will who passed away and said in his view the condition of the road was a factor in the accident. Police enquiries into the incident are continuing.

Other residents have made comments about the maintenance and condition of the road on social media posts.

Mike Charman said: "My brother was a very safe rider and the reason we think the crash happened was because of gravel all over the road and the fact the council came back the next day to clean the road but only doing half a job cleaning it, the gravel has obviously been washed down from the new path that was put in place last year.

"I know of 2 other young riders on mopeds who both come off their bikes on the same path of gravel."

Mike also supplied some before and after shots of the road.
