The Falmouth Coastguard were tasked this evening to reports of swimmers missing at Swanpool Beach.

Earlier this evening at around 17:30 the Coastguard were notified after swimmers hadn't been coming out of the sea at Swanpool.

A spokesperson for Falmouth Coastguard Rescue Team said:

"On the scene, the swimmers were quickly located safe and well. Suitable safety advice was passed on and we returned to station.

"The caller did exactly the right thing as they'd not seen the swimmers return to the beach and the dark had set in, there was a genuine concern for welfare.

"If you spot anyone in danger at the coast, phone 999 and ask for Coastguard."
