Hannah Searle and her family have put together an amazing Christmas display at their house in Falmouth to spread Christmas cheer and raise money for the Polkerris ward at the Royal Cornwall Hospital which specialises in helping newborn babies and children up to the age of 11.
Just two days ago they shared that they had already managed to raise over £400, Hannah said the Family is blown away and proud to raise money for a ward where their son has spent so much time and is due to spend more time recovering from upcoming procedures in the future.
I got in touch with Hannah to hear all about the display and how the family came up with the amazing idea, she said: "I guess it was the pandemic, this is our third year of doing a large display. Back in the original lockdown (2020) we decided to bring some Christmas cheer to the neighbourhood by putting some outside decorations up and people loved it.
"So we went even bigger last year (2021) and a family member mentioned doing it for charity, initially we brushed it off and then thought why not let's give it a go… we raised over £500! Our little boy who is nearly five fought Meningitis as a baby, so last year we raised money for Meningitis.
"This year we're doing it for a charity closer to home, the response has been amazing and children and families are absolutely loving having pictures taken on the sleigh and enjoying all the different lights."
You can find the display on Boscundle Avenue on the older part of the Goldenbank Estate, the display will be hard to miss. The lights will be on from 5 pm to 9 pm each night and if you visit before 6 pm feel free to knock, the family will come to say hello and hand out some treats.
If all that wasn't amazing enough Hannah and the family have also organised a Christmas colouring competition with a festive prize for two winners.
How to enter:
