Almost a year after a bid to build holiday lodges adjacent to a golf club in Falmouth was rejected on the grounds they would have an adverse impact on an area of outstanding natural beauty, a further application has been made to build two homes on another parcel of land attached to the facility.

Previously permission was granted by Cornwall Council for 30 new homes in the area, as well as a new golf clubouse, and local residents have already criticised the new plans as too much in a rural area.

The planned site is a distance from the site that was rejected and is closer to existing homes.

However, lovers of green space are concerned. One contacted Falmouth Nub News to say: "With the initial development there was some community benefit in the form of a new clubhouse and a new footpath along Swanpool Road.

"This additional application has no such community benefit and surely constitutes over development. Unfortunately the application has gone largely unnoticed and there are only a few more days for comments."

The new application and the opportunity to comment can be found via this link
