Plans have been presented this week for stage 3 of the Eve Parc housing development at Lower Kergilliack Farm, pushing forward with 123 new homes on the site.

Submitted by Eve Somerville, permission granted in 2014 gave the go-ahead of 300 new homes across the entire site, together with a local centre, public open space, landscaping, pedestrian, and cycle links.

Originally 149 houses, this has been reduced to 123 to ensure the 300 mark is not exceeded and to maintain the landscape of the area.

The development will be comprised of up to 35% affordable housing.

If granted, the proposal will have 123 detached, semi-detached, and terraced houses along with a community orchard.

Main access to the site will be gained directly from Bickland Hill.

The proposed access junction will form part of a new 4-arm roundabout comprising the site access, Bickland Hill (North and South), and Conway Road.

In conclusion, the developer added:

"The development represents a sensible proposition on an appropriate location. It will provide much needed affordable accommodation, along with identifiable tangible and long lasting benefits for Falmouth in an eminently sustainable location."

The status of the application is "awaiting decision".
