For anyone looking for a different way to spoil Mum this Mother's Day - Hotel Meudon is offering a special afternoon tea option.

Green-fingered mums can take tea amongst the blooms in the subtropical gardens of Hotel Meudon in Mawnan Smith, recent winners of a Gold Taste of the West and Silver Restaurant of the Year in the Cornwall Tourism Awards.

Laid out by the Fox family (also responsible for nearby Trebah Garden), the nine-acre grounds will be putting on their finest spring display.

Mother's Day afternoon tea will be served outdoors (weather permitting) or can be taken in the restaurant, Bridge, or Drawing Room with spectacular views down the verdant valley.

Round the afternoon off with a stroll through the gardens to admire the magnificent flora and fauna, including a moment to pause at the hotel's secluded cove.

The spread costs from £17 per person, or £28 with a glass of Champagne, including a delicious selection of homemade cakes, pastries, and sandwiches alongside the traditional Cornish clotted cream, jam, and scones straight from the oven, as well as a special gift for mums. Afternoon tea will be served from 12:30 pm to 3:30pm.
