Accident investigation work takes place in Penryn after van and pedestrian collision

There is still lengthy traffic delays around Penryn following a collision this morning.

Police were informed of an incident involving a van and a pedestrian on the A39 at around 9:35am (24th).

As a result, the A39 was closed both ways from Treliever Roundabout to Kernick Roundabout.

A traffic update as of (15:19) reads: "A39 both ways closed long delays, queueing traffic due to accident investigation work from A394 (Treliever Roundabout) to Kernick Roundabout. Congestion to all routes through Penryn as traffic tries to divert. Church Road and Falmouth Road are particularly congested."

Emergency services have been on the scene with one person "seriously injured". Motorists have been urged to avoid the area.
