Emergency services are on the scene after an accident near Penryn involving a van and a pedestrian.

Devon and Cornwall Police traffic page says that the A39 is closed both ways this morning (24th) with heavy traffic from A394 (Treliever Roundabout) to Kernick Roundabout.

Eyewitnesses are reporting emergency services on the scene as well as the air ambulance.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson told Nub News: "Police were called to reports of a road traffic collision involving a van and a pedestrian on the A39 at Treilever, Penryn, at around 9:35am today, Friday 24th June.

"One person has been seriously injured and emergency services are on the scene.

"Local road closures have been put in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.

"The incident is ongoing."
