Organisers intend to make this year's marching carnival the highlight of the town's events calendar - and residents are being urged to join in.

This year's carnival is set to take place on Saturday 7th August 2021.

The marching parade finishes in 2021 with a free Carnival Party down on Church Street Car Park Marquee.

Expect toe-tapping tunes, street food, and plenty of local brews.

For those returning back to Falmouth Rugby Club, the bar will remain open to welcome you home.

As this is a marching carnival, there are to be no motorised floats or vehicles this year.

The full schedule - and how to sign up

  • Pre-Carnival Fun from 11am at Falmouth Rugby Club with South West's Inflatable Theme Park.
  • Bar & Refreshments Open from 12pm.
  • Marching Carnival entry registration opens on the day from 15:00 at Falmouth Rugby Club.
  • British and Irish Lions 3rd Test v South Africa K.O 17:00 on the BIG Screen.
  • Marching Parade Starts 18:30 (Falmouth Rugby Club, officially ending at Church Street Car Park).

Speaking to Nub News, the organisers behind the carnival said:

"There is no mistaking the Falmouth Marine Band Cornwall as it entertains the crowds on its way through Falmouth town centre with the melodious strains of the oil drums of the Falmouth Marine Band Cornwall, beating down Killigrew Street, along Market Street.

"Officially ending on Church Street. Arwennack Street and Grove Place are not part of the route in 2021.

"The Falmouth Marine Band often stop along the way to fire something from the cannon, while generally adding madness and mayhem of the day, along with Betty Stogs who always entertains spectators as the peoples favourite 'Carnival Queen'.

"Let's make this a highlight of the town's annual events calendar in 2021 and kick off the start of Falmouth Week in style."
