A Falmouth woman will be shaving her head to raise money for cancer in memory of her beloved nan.

Willow Parker-Murray, 24, had been looking after her nan, Gloria Kevern, for the past ten years before she sadly passed away during lockdown.

Gloria, who was a longtime sufferer of cancer, would depend on Willow to do everything from cooking to housework.

"I will no longer be able to do the things she asked," Willow told Nub News.

"I am glad she is out of pain but sad she never got her final wishes. I am hoping that braving the shave will show her I'm still thinking of her."

'Brave the shave' is a charity fundraiser by Macmillan Cancer Support - thousands of people have signed up to host the fundraiser over the UK.

Willow will be shaving her head alongside her partner on 28th August.

"Seeing my nan with next to no hair was a struggle for me as I used to plait it down past her hips," Willow said.

"This is important to me because I feel like it would bring my nan a bit of peace knowing that I'm not afraid.

"We will beat cancer's butt."
