One hundred and ninety-nine properties in Mabe have been without power this afternoon following a high-voltage power cut.

Western Power Distribution was alerted to the power cut at 11:55am on Monday morning.

Mabe residents have been eagerly waiting all afternoon for their power supply to be returned.

Western Power has been pushing back the estimated resolve time throughout the day.

One Mabe resident stated: "Is anyone else experiencing the power shutting off then coming back on again?"

Another resident said: "Just got a text from Western Power saying they're aiming for electric coming back on by 3:30pm."

The problem is estimated to be sorted by 17:30pm.
