In the latest update from Falmouth's apartment development The Liner it appears plans for a restaurant are set to be dropped.

The Liner is fifty-three beachfront apartment and penthouse complex that was set to boast a village shop, restaurant and retail space.

Now, an application has been submitted to change the original plans to a single commercial unit as the village shop "was too small" and there was no need for a restaurant.

A description of the changes reads:

"Village shop and restaurant now a single commercial unit. Entrance

steps reduced and planting area added. Disable ramp added to the front of the garden apartments.

"Minor layout tweaks to car park area including bin store, plant room, cage storage area, and paddleboard storage. The building entrance lobby has also been enhanced, and there are minor changes to unit 5, including its entrance and terrace.

"A food retailer will occupy the commercial area as one unit. Ramp added to aid access generally, and changes in the car parking area, entrance and unit 5 all due to detailed design development.

"The village shop was too small, and there is no demand for a restaurant. As such a single food retailer will occupy the

combined space, this, in turn, has made condition 22 ventilation redundant."
