A staff member has tested positive for Coronavirus at St Michael's Resort, it was confirmed today.

The hotel said it "worked quickly" to find out if there was any other risk of spreading.

Another case was confirmed today at Penryn Primary Academy with pupils in the affected 'bubble' being sent home.

St Michaels Resort Director, Louise Uys-Jones said:

"A member of our team has tested positive for Covid-19. The member of staff in question is not guest-facing and we have worked quickly to determine any further potential contact risk.

"We can confirm that no other staff members have tested positive. We continue to follow our strict Covid-secure safety plan, including a deep clean of all public spaces.

"Our priority is the wellbeing of the staff member concerned, as well as the health and safety of all of our guests and employees."
