Newly opened Falmouth restaurant, Restaurant MINE, has been receiving rave reviews from diners.

Restaurant MINE is owned by Angus and Kate, who moved down from London to fulfil their dream of running something together.

Taking its place in the popular Old Brewery Yard location, Restaurant MINE aims to create fun takes on classic British flavour combinations.

Owner and head chef, Angus, told Nub News:

"There is nothing better than sitting in a bar with a pint of beer and a bowl of nuts, so we have a chocolate ale cake with a peanut custard. It triggers the same sort of pleasure in your mouth.

"Beef and horseradish is a classic combination too. We have a crispy beef shin terrine, it is really slow-braised beef, covered in breadcrumbs and deep-fried and that is with fresh horseradish on top.

"It is just really moreish, quite indulgent food but with a nice balance of acidity. That is evident through all of our dishes.

The couple says this is their biggest challenge yet.

"We knew all of our suppliers in London. It has been a rewarding challenge meeting all of the new suppliers here and we love the local produce.

"There is a different way to Cornwall that feels a lot more relaxed and we feel that comes through in our restaurant.

"It is nice to see tables who didn't come together talking to each other by the end of the night."

Reviews on social media have already been flooding in, with one commenter stating:

"Amazing food with awesome hosts!"

Another commenter wrote:

"The food and service were faultless. Very affordable and with great food and produce, you couldn't go wrong."
