Welcome to the seventh instalment of our "an afternoon with" series. These articles are all about celebrating a variety of businesses and individuals in our community. It doesn't matter how big or how small, we want to provide original coverage on those that are making an impact around our wonderful town.

This time we are with Hooked on the Rocks.

Overlooking Swanpool Beach, Hooked on the Rocks offers a great quality seafood experience with a one of a kind view.

We met up with head chef, George Morgan, to discuss the upcoming reopening and life as a chef in one of the prettiest restaurants Falmouth has to offer.

He told Nub News:

"When we reopen in February people can expect to see a brand new A la carte menu bursting with seasonality and excitement.

"Our amazing value lunch menu is back running all through the week.

"Every Friday we will be hosting a surf and turf evening where you can choose your cuts of beef, bolt-on you seafood then build your meal with a selection of sides and sauces like truffle chips with aged parmesan or scrumpy battered onion rings.

"Also, don't forget our roasts are back! The first Sunday of each month.

"Being the head chef of Hooked on rocks is brilliant. I have the most fantastic team who are extremely hard working, who I couldn't do it without.

"My suppliers are incredible and never let me down.

"Whether it's Kev bringing in the wild mussels, Ned with all the lobsters and crabs, George with the scallops, Pete from Canara farm, Miles bringing in foraged sea vegetables, Rodger & Tanya from Cornish duck, the cornish chilli, cornish mushrooms!

"There are just loads and we are very fortunate to have them as it really is the best of the best."

"It's been really great working together with Falmouth Nub News. We are really excited to host the winners of the competition.

"They will enjoy our lunch menu consisting some of our most popular dishes.

"Like, our beer-battered catch of the day with triple cooked chips, wild Falmouth mussels, spiced squid, our vegetable katsu curry & loads more! "

The winners of our competition will be announced on the 28th of January - two lucky people will receive lunch for two with a glass of prosecco.
