New plans have been submitted for a roof terrace and beer garden in Falmouth at JD Wetherspoon, The Packet Station.
The application reads:
"The application is seeking full planning permission for the creation of a roof level terrace and beer garden including the addition of internal passenger lift."
The application is a resubmission from 2017 after the plans were dismissed by Cornwall Council under the following grounds:
- The proposal would generate noise disturbance that is harmful to neighbours and impact on upon conservation area.
The application continues:
"Following the dismissal of the appeal, the proposals have been revisited with input from the applicant's heritage, noise and planning consultants [..] this has resulted in significant alterations to the scheme to address the earlier comments.
"It has been demonstrated that the proposals will not create any harm and that the character of the conservation area will not be affected.
"It has been demonstrated that the noise levels at the nearest sensitive receptors are comfortably below the Council's Development Sound Standard and the evening ambient levels."
JD Wetherspoons recently had an application given the go-ahead for a beer garden to the rear of the establishment.
