In May of this year, motorcyclists from Falmouth and across Cornwall will join together to ride in memory of Aaron Pill.

The Aaron Pill memorial motorbike run will take place on Sunday 2nd May from Falmouth Football Club to Lands End.

The event is in tribute to Aaron Pill who was murdered at home on May 4th 2020.

Following a trial at Truro Crown Court, Kane Coggin, aged 27, of Meadowbank, Mylor Bridge and Liam Bastow, aged 24, of Avalon Close, Mylor Bridge, were found guilty of Aaron's murder.

Aarons stepdad Bryan Johnson told Julie Skentelbery on BBC Radio Cornwall, "we have just had the justice served on the two gentlemen that did the crime and we just want to do something for his memory."

Aaron was a keen motorcyclist and as Bryan is too, he thought this event would be a fitting tribute on the first anniversary of his death.

Bryan continued:

"He was a well-liked boy in the town, he had a lot of friends and he would do anything for anybody. He just didn't deserve what happened to him.

"He was a young lad starting off his life and trying to get his business off the ground. He was making a lot of plans for the future, then all this happened and it has had a devastating effect on the family."

Bryan passed his motorcycle test in September in his memory and came up with the idea for the ride with the intention to raise as much money as possible for a charity he donated to which was Cancer Research.

"It is something for the family to aim for and be a part of," he said.

It will take place on Sunday 2nd May, starting at Falmouth Football Club at 10am, the clubhouse will be open and Bryan has organised for a catering company to be there.

The Falmouth community has rallied together previously to show their support, with a candlelit vigil in December to mark seven months since his death.

Speaking on the support from the community, Bryan added:

"Very good, I work for OTS Transport and they have offered to be the main sponsor for the event. I have had a lot of support from people, people that don't even know me, people who have come on my bus, and my regulars, they are very supportive."

Bryan urged people who knew Aaron and have a motorcycle/scooter to come on the ride and show appreciation for his life, if you don't have a motorbike simply come along to the club and show your support.
